It was for my little brother who works out alot. Without that, the volume goes up and down, and you can't control it. I gave this as a gift. It would have been great, but I didn't know you needed the plastic to cover the ipod.
The phone fits really snug into it and the armband material isn't very comfortable. This armband works for its necessary purpose but it isn't durable to last very long. If you are looking for an inexpensive armband to get you through regular work outs, this is the one for you.
But, like I said, for the price it's great. Can't figure out why. I like the item for the price I paid. Only problem is that while running I am constantly having to adjust the volume. It's almost like it is too tight of a fit.
I then proceeded to RIP the phone out of the holder. Then I finally forced it into place, and the plastic screen was stuck on the front of my iPhone. Bottom line: IF YOU HAVE A SCREEN PROTECTOR, CONSIDER A DIFFERENT HOLDER THERE ARE MANY OUT THERE. This is a very well put together product. It seems durable and well constructed with one serious problem. My iPhone BARELY WENT INTO THE HOLDER. It took a lot of effort and i thought it was going to remove the screen protector on my iPhone.
Also, no clue about the screen being too thick making it insensitive (not the situation with mine. However, I have no idea what the other reviewers mean by it sticks to the screen protector (mine does not stick). I guess anybody including someone who works for competitor companies can write reviews. I just bought one. It was a little difficult getting it thru the opening (but that's good because hopefully it will hold it in). it works fine).
